4 1/2 Star Rated Winery – By James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
Founded in 1997 by John Griffiths & Jane Micallef, together they planted 11 acres of vines in the Swan Valley. Their flagship Swan Valley varieties are Verdelho, Shiraz and Muscat. They also source fruit from other WA regions to compliment their Swan Valley range, with the ambition to make and share regionally distinctive, flavoursome wines.
Winemaker John Griffiths has been the recipient of the prestigious Jack Mann Memorial Medal 2007 and the Di Cullen Memorial Award 2009, both for his outstanding contribution to the West Australian Wine Industry. In addition John has been inducted as an icon of the Swan Valley for significant contribution to the history, character and development of the region. Faber has achieved an outstanding result in the Swan Valley Winemakers Association achieving most successful producer with 23 medals from 28 entries.
